We invite anyone with an interest in gardening and general horticulture to join us. We have members at all levels of experience, from beginner to expert.
Why You Should Join
- You will meet many people with interests similar to your own
- There is a monthly Show & Tell time when members proudly display their interesting or unusual plants, or plants in bloom, and share care and cultural tips for growing these plants
- There is a question and answer period when you can discuss problems you may have with your plants, soils to use, pests and diseases, plant names and much more
- There is a Plant and Craft Table where members can donate extra plants, thereby providing extra income for HSSJ
- There are two annual flower shows with ribbons and rosettes awarded for best arrangements, miniature arrangements, potted plants and cut speciments
- At each meeting there is an interesting horticultural program, a short business meeting, and a social time with refreshments
- There are trips to members' gardens, as well as botanic gardens, greenhouses and nurseries
