Join The Horticultural Society of South Jersey

Membership in HSSJ

We invite anyone with an interest in gardening and general horticulture to join us. We have members at all levels of experience, from beginner to expert.

Why You Should Join

  • You will meet many people with interests similar to your own
  • There is a monthly Show & Tell time when members proudly display their interesting or unusual plants, or plants in bloom, and share care and cultural tips for growing these plants
  • There is a question and answer period when you can discuss problems you may have with your plants, soils to use, pests and diseases, plant names and much more
  • There is a Plant and Craft Table where members can donate extra plants, thereby providing extra income for HSSJ
  • There are two annual flower shows with ribbons and rosettes awarded for best arrangements, miniature arrangements, potted plants and cut speciments
  • At each meeting there is an interesting horticultural program, a short business meeting, and a social time with refreshments
  • There are trips to members' gardens, as well as botanic gardens, greenhouses and nurseries
